If you live or are visiting the Lake District you are welcome to call in for advice and an assessment of your down equipment. Please bear in mind that we are a mail order manufacturer and do not have a public retail outlet, howerver, we will be pleased to see you if you can make an appointment before hand.

Fill in the details on the order form, making sure we have your daytime and evening phone numbers. When we have assessed your equipment we will contact you, listen to your requirements and then give you the most economical option to get your down equipment back into first class order. When you send your down equipment to us, we recomend that you use your local Post Office and Parcel Force.

We have worked on, at some time in the past 30 years, practically every type of bag that has been made from the many manufacturers from around the world. Information and advice (withoutobligation) on how to improve your down equipment is given to ensure that it works in the climatic conditions and at the altitude you are expected to achieve. Cleaning Down Equipment
Avail yourself of this service to rid your down equipment of unwanted stains and odours. We empty your bag of down and wash the shell and refill the bag. This is the only way to guarantee that your down is not damaged. At the same time you can have any damaged down replaced, or simply have your bag upgraded with additional down.
If this is the action your bag requires, we are able to say that we know you will be impressed on it's return. Mountaineering Designs tailors all it's services to meet the needs of the customer. Whatever your requirements, we will make a professional and concerted effort to meet and surpass your expectations.
Conversion / Upgrading

• 2 into 1 conversion £104 + our standard carraige fee
• Do you want to 'upgrade' the season performance of your down equipment ?
• have you 'wash damaged' your expensive down filling ?
• Is your down 'lumpy and congealed' and giving you 'cold spots' ?
Our 1 into 1 conversion process takes the down from your old donor sleeping bag, and places the down into a new shell (nylon outer/cotton inner, Mummy shaped, with side fitted zip, wind blocking baffle and box foot). This gives you a 'new bag' at a fraction of the cost of an equivelant new one. We will also do a 2 into 1 conversion, which uses 2 old doner sleeping bags to upgrade into one 'new bag', this is the cheapest way to upgrade any down sleeping bag.
If yes is the answer to any of these then our refurbishment service is just right for you. As long as your shell is in good condition this service offers you the most economical way to get your bag back to peak performance. Don't consider buying new until we have assessed your down equipment. We use New Goose Down - 96/4 fill with a fillpower of 750+, the top of the range filling.
If your down is damaged i.e. lumpy and congealed, then we extract and dispose of this before adding the new down.

Cleaning - £35.00 per item
